Rack up PC Optimum™ points with the new PC Money™ Account

Canadians love their rewards programs, and rightly so. There’s something gratifying about getting points for buying stuff you need (and want) and saving them up to pick up something else down the road.
Many of us also take pleasure in the goal-setting that comes with collecting points and, of course, the satisfaction of redeeming them towards purchases. Who doesn’t love redeeming points instead of spending dollars when buying a new lipstick at the Beauty Boutique or picking up a special dessert for family dinner?
Lately, many of us are shifting our spending towards essentials and looking for ways to make our money go further. Using loyalty reward programs can help in that effort.
Why the PC Money™ Account may be right for you
There’s a good chance you already know and love the PC Optimum™ program. It’s one of the country’s largest loyalty rewards programs, with millions of PC Optimum members who can collect and redeem their points at PC Optimum program affiliates including Loblaws®, Real Canadian Superstore®, No Frills®, Joe Fresh®, Zehrs® and Shoppers Drug Mart®.
Well, listen up, super fans: There’s a new way to earn even more PC Optimum points on all your regular purchases.
PC Optimum members now have the opportunity to supercharge their points earning with the new PC Money™ Account. The PC Money Account works like a bank account you can use worldwide, even online, anywhere Mastercard® is accepted. Account holders earn 10 PC Optimum™ points for every $1 of their purchases1, everywhere they shop. We’re talking anything from baby shower gifts to new shoes to your favourite flavour of ice cream, including purchases both online and in-store at retailers across Canada and around the world.
In other words, you earn PC Optimum points by simply going about your daily life. Now that’s making your money work harder.
The points earned from your PC Money Account can also be combined with other PC Optimum offers, like your personalized offers and bonus point events at PC Optimum program affiliates.
For example, let’s say you’re a PC Optimum member who buys $5 worth of delicious chocolate chip cookies at No Frills because you have a personalized offer to receive 100 points for every $1 spent on cookies. Upon cashing out, your total grocery bill comes to $50. If you pay using your PC Money Account, you’ll earn 1,000 points for that shopping trip: 500 points for the cookies and 500 points for the entire grocery bill. Without using the PC Money Account, you would have missed out on half the rewards and only earned 500 points. (Remember that 1,000 points = $1 and you can redeem points in 10,000, or $10, increments).
The PC Money Account has some unique features
The PC Money Account also comes with a few unique features, including unlimited everyday transactions2, no-fee withdrawals at PC Financial® ATMs and there’s no minimum account balance requirement.
Also, there are a number of welcome bonus PC Optimum points offers3 that PC Money Account holders can take advantage of, including: 10,000 bonus points for linking the PC Money Account to an external bank account; another 10,000 bonus points the first time you spend $50+ using the account; and an additional 25,000 bonus points for setting up a direct payroll deposit on the account, completing at least three direct deposits into the account within the three consecutive months following setup.
PC Money Account holders can also get 1,000 points for every $50+ bill payment made to unique payees using the account, with a limit of five bill payments, or 5,000 points, per month4.
That’s a whole lot of points up for grabs.
The PC Money account also gives you the option to set up personalized savings goals for items like a smart TV or a new high-tech kitchen gadget. You can even add pictures to this part of the account, to make saving and tracking spending a bit more fun. Think of it like a vision board for your savings goals.
For ease of use, the PC Money Account can be used wherever Mastercard® is accepted.
You can also rest assured that the PC Money Account includes extra safeguards, including Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation protection on eligible deposits, two-factor authentication, 24/7 fraud detection and support and Mastercard Zero Liability Promise for unauthorized purchases5.
Canadians are seeking more from their money and the new PC Money Account makes your everyday money movement a lot more rewarding.
